How to Determine Your Shoe Width?

First: Measure your foot width (see our How to Measure Shoe Size-guide.) Then: Find your European (EU) shoe size in the shoe width chart below (left column), and find the shoe width corresponding to your foot width.
Between sizes? If your measurement is located between sizes, always round up!

Shoe Width Codes

What do the shoe width codes mean? We understand if you are confused! There are a lot of different codes that is used to indicate shoe width out there. We will tell you what the different codes actually mean below:

Narrow Shoe Width: S, A, 2A, 3A, B, N, C. More letters mean more narrow shoes. I.e. 3A is more narrow than 2A and A.
Medium Shoe Width: D, M, R
Wide Shoe Width: E, 2E, W. More letters mean wider shoes. I.e. 2E is wider than E.
Extra Wide (XWide): 3E, 4E, 5E, 6E, WW, WWW. More letters mean wider shoes. I.e. 6E is wider than 4E, and WWW is wider than WW.

All measurements in inches. Shoe Size (shoe length) is EU Shoe Size (European mainland). See also Men's Shoe Width Chart for US and UK shoe sizes. All numbers are average measurements.
